Poem : When Thou Must Home To Shades Of Underground
Poet : Thomas Campion
1 When thou must home to shades of underground, 2 And there arriv'd, a new admired guest, 3 The beauteous spirits do engirt thee round, 4 White Iope, blithe Helen, and the rest, 5 To hear the stories of thy finish'd love 6 From that smooth tongue whose music hell can move; 7 Then wilt thou speak of banqueting delights, 8 Of masques and revels which sweet youth did make, 9 Of tourneys and great challenges of knights, 10 And all these triumphs for thy beauty's sake: 11 When thou hast told these honours done to thee, 12 Then tell, O tell, how thou didst murder me.
